Wizz Air Launches Pilot Recruitment Campaign – No Experience Required

Hungarian based Wizz Air has launched a recruitment campaign with pilot jobs for both Experienced and Inexperienced Captain and First Officers.

The move comes from the low-cost carrier as many airlines around Europe, including themselves made cuts early on in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wizz Air recently launched 55 new routes and announced new bases at Milan Malpensa, Larnaca and Tirana to complement there existing bases at Gdansk, Lublin, Poznan, Katowice, Warsaw and Wroclaw in Poland; Budapest and Debrecen in Hungary; Sofia and Varna in Bulgaria; Chisinau in Moldova; Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Tirgu Mures, Iasi, Sibiu, Craiova, and Timisoara in Romania; Kyiv in Ukraine; Prague in Czech Republic; Belgrade in Serbia; Vilnius in Lithuania; Skopje in Macedonia; Riga in Latvia; Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina; Kutaisi in Georgia and Kosice in Slovakia; Luton in the United Kingdom.

The advertised pilot jobs are for both their European AOC and also their Abu Dhabi based AOC. The company plans to create a hold-pool of talent for expansion later this year.

Of particular interest are the cadet pilot positions advertised on their recruitment portal as follows:

First Officer A320/321

 (Non-Type Rated – with low or without operational experience)

If you would like to join Wizz Air’s Flight Crew team as a non-type rated First Officer into the position of an Airbus A320/321 First Officer, please see below the requirements for applying: 

  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU or Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
  • Valid EASA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) 
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate 
  • Valid Instrument Rating (IR) for Multi-Engine aeroplane (ME) 
  • Last flight within the preceding 6 months 
  • ATPL theory completed* (certificate or license endorsement as remark) 
  • MCC course completed** (certificate or license endorsement as remark) 
  • UPRT training completed*** (certificate and 3 hours TTL logbook entry on certified aircraft) 
  • ICAO level 4/5/6 English proficiency

    AND

    Total 145 hours actual flight time on fixed wing aircraft**** with integrated ATPL theory completed

    OR

    Total 200 hours actual flight time on fixed wing aircraft**** with CPL/IR training completed in modular system 

Notes:

*ATPL theory certificate issued by any EASA CAA or entered into the license 

**MCC is not required if multi-crew aircraft flown before or complex type rating (e.g. B737) completed

***Advanced UPRT is not required if any type rating on complex aircraft completed before

**** Ultra-light aircraft, power gliders, simulator and helicopter hours are excluded

First Officer A320/321

If you would like to join the Wizz Air Flight Crew team as an Airbus A320 rated First Officer with low or without operational experience on type into the position of an Airbus A320/321 First Officer, please see below the requirements for applying: 

  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU or Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
  • Valid EASA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) 
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate 
  • Valid Instrument Rating (IR) on Airbus A320*
  • Last flight within the preceding 6 months 
  • ATPL theory completed** (certificate or license endorsement as remark) 
  • ICAO level 4/5/6 English proficiency

    AND

    Total 145 hours actual flight time on fixed wing aircraft*** with integrated ATPL theory completed

    OR

    Total 200 hours actual flight time on fixed wing aircraft*** with CPL/IR training completed in modular system 

Notes:

*The type rating must have at least 6 months validity on the date of joining, as new candidates only complete an OPC on starting

**ATPL theory certificate issued by any EASA CAA or entered into the license 

*** Ultra-light aircraft, power gliders, simulator and helicopter hours are excluded
