Have you got a Commercial Pilot Licence and an Instrument Rating? Are you looking for that first break to get in to the Airline Industry, the Jet2.com Pilot Apprentice Scheme may just be for you.
The airline has been offering this apprenticeship course for a while now, which takes those who have maybe completed their training modular, from the CPL/IR with MCC through to being type-rated on one of their Boeing 737 or 757 aircraft based in the UK.
The course encompasses a Summer and Winter season within Jet2 and for 12 months you will be expected to work in all key-areas of the business, including their Contact Centre, Operation Department, Finance Department, Human Resources Department, Jet2holidays and their Engineering Teams, with the company paying you a fair salary, whilst you gain a valuable insight in to the behind the scenes work that goes on in the Northern-based leisure airline.
Once your 12 month apprenticeship is complete, you will be taken on as a ‘Second Officer’ on one of their aircraft, with a fully-bonded type-rating, after a set amount of hours are complete on the line, you will progress to a First Officer and finally on to a Senior First Officer, with the pay-scale increasing with each step.
To give you an idea of expected earnings during this apprenticeship, we have put some ‘guideline’ figures together:
Apprentice – circa £18,000
Second Officer – circa £40,500
First Officer circa – £53,900
Senior First Officer – circa £61,200
All of these figures are basic salary guidance and you can expect to earn £2000-4000 extra in duty allowance and flight pay.
Successful candidates will already have a UK Issued Frozen ATPL Pilots Licence, a Current Class One Medical and a valid UK driving licence. Along with this, you will have completed an MCC and JOC course and have strong ATPL Theory exam results. You will have also maintained your flying ‘currency’ through training and/or regular flying. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of office IT systems. In addition, you must be flexible as we may require you to work from any of Jet2.com’s 9 UK Bases, which are Belfast International, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford (HQ), London Stansted, Manchester (Largest Base) and Newcastle.
The vacancy has only just re-opened and competition is likely to be high, so don’t delay your application.
