International Airlines Group (IAG) have announced the launch of LEVEL a new low-cost carrier that will connect Barcelona with Los Angeles, San Francisco, Buenos Aires and Punta Cana.
IAG announced that the new airline will fly two brand-new Airbus A330 aircraft, which will branded in their own LEVEL livery and will be configured to carry 293 passengers in economy and 21 premium economy passengers. The new low-cost will be operated by Iberia crew and they announced that around 250 new jobs will be created at their base in Barcelona.
LEVEL will initially be launched out of Barcelona, but Chief Executive Willie Walsh said that the airline would hopefully expand to other European cities in the near-future. Mr Walsh also said “LEVEL is an exciting new IAG airline brand which will bring a stylish, modern approach to flying at prices that are even more affordable. It will benefit from having the strength of one of he world’s largest airline groups behind it.”
IAG operates a fleet of over 548 aircraft and flies to 270+ destinations across the world, carrying 95 million passengers annually.
