West Atlantic, the UK’s largest independent cargo carrier, has announced it will be recruiting a new intake of cadet pilots for their pilot sponsorship programme based at Coventry Airport. The deadline for application forms to be received by West Atlantic is 7th February and the selection process will take place in March.
Cadet pilots are employed by West Atlantic and cover many cadet duties whilst concurrently training for their ATPL ground studies, Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL), Instrument Rating (IR) and finally type training.The West Atlantic sponsorship scheme is funded fully up front by West Atlantic Airlines. Once type rated and employed as a West Atlantic First Officer, the pilot then pays back 50% of their training costs.
ATPL ground and flight training for the West Atlantic cadet pilots is provided by ProPilot and Aeros at Coventry Airport. Pre-entry requirements for the Cadet Scheme
- hold a current EASA Private Pilots Licence
- hold a current class 1 medical
- have a full, clean, UK driving licence
- have the rights to live and work within the UK
Preferably you should:
- hold a night rating
- have 150 hours total time with 100 hours P1
(Note: not essential for the right candidate)
Applicants should print off the Cadet Scheme Application Form from www.ProPilot.eu/your-career/west-atlantic-cadet-scheme and return it by 7th February to the address on the form. Previous applicants who have forms held on file may reapply with updated information.
